The Latest Stop on my Book Tour: Chapter Two with Barry O’Reilly

Book tours—like everything else—look different during COVID times. Instead of going to different book stores and events and meeting readers in person, tours now involve staying home. Any appearances take place through virtual formats like podcasts and video calls.

But this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Our new virtual world makes it much easier to connect with others in our industry, even if we don’t live physically nearby. For example, Barry O’Reilly, who’s based in San Francisco, recently invited me to appear on his Chapter Two YouTube Live session. It was so much fun to participate in this discussion—and I didn’t even have to worry about jet lag!

If you’re not familiar with Barry and his work, he’s a business advisor, entrepreneur, keynote speaker, bestselling author of Unlearn and Lean Enterprise, and host of Chapter Two.

Each episode of Chapter Two follows the same format:

  • Barry speaks with an author about their new book for up to 25 minutes

  • They discuss one big idea that’s central to the book

  • The author picks one chapter to do a deep-dive on

In our conversation about STRONG, I chose to focus on Chapter 4: Define Your Good. You’ll hear about my own approach to defining good and the six personality traits that I believe define great product managers.
