📖 Reboot: Reclaiming Your Life in a Tech-Obsessed World by Elaine Kasket
A deeply personal and brave book. Elaine reflects on her own relationship with big tech—including parental oversharing and how it shaped her daughter's digital identity—but goes far beyond her own story. She examines how big tech continues to shape all of our identities, our choices, and our sense of self. If you work in product and haven't thought about these questions yet, this book will make sure you do.
📖 Empire of AI by Karen Hao
All of us have been watching how generative AI took the world by storm—and we know roughly how it unfolded. But reading it in such a dense, well-researched format is a different experience. Intense, even. Karen Hao brings investigative rigor to who holds influence in the AI landscape, how these technologies are built, and what it all means for those of us building digital products. Essential if you want to understand the forces shaping the systems we work within.
📖 Architecture for Flow by Susanne Kaiser
If you've heard me talk about org design, team topologies, or building more adaptive product organizations, Susanne Kaiser's name has probably come up. Since we're both based in Hamburg, our conversations always circle back to how systems shape the way teams collaborate. Susanne has brought her thinking together in a beautifully structured book. I was lucky enough to get my copy handed to me personally by the author—over lunch, no less. Haven't dived in yet, but very much looking forward to it.
📖 Artificial Organizations by Barry O'Reilly
Barry doesn't just explore where AI can help—he gives you frameworks and tools to measure whether it actually does. His Executive Scorecard offers a concrete 45-day check-in: Is prep time down? Have we killed weak initiatives earlier? Are trade-offs sharper? The book is packed with practical tools for governance, pilot design, and deciding when to scale or stop. One line stuck with me: "If AI doesn't change behavior, it's decoration."
📖 The Decision Stack by Martin Eriksson
A framework for creating clarity where there is confusion—helping teams understand how decisions connect, from company strategy all the way down to what someone is working on today. I've used this mental model in my coaching for years, and it even made it into the PLwheel. I reviewed earlier drafts, but reading the finished book is something else entirely. No fluff. Not a single unnecessary sentence. I finished it in one sitting—and I can already feel how many "aha" moments it will create for people.
